Original Frankart F604 Dual Figural Lamp

This one will garner some big bucks. In apparently original paint, this dual figural Frankart lamp is clearly marked with the manufacturer and model number - F604. It has it's original cord and possibly an original or early bulb from what I can see in the picture. There are marks and chips here and there but nothing that I can see that detracts. This lamp has the original shade.

L245 Frankart Silhouette Lamp

Up for sale is a rare L245 Frankart Silhouette Lamp, which is 16" high and signed on the base. Bidding currently has this lamp at $1,000 and heading higher with reserve not met. Condition looks very good with the exception of a couple "flea bites". More details and images here.

This highly detailed Deco lamp is seeing a lot of activity on Ebay. With excellent colors and condition, I'm tempted to get in on the action as well. If the prior performance of this lamp from December 12th provides any guidance, we could see the final price in the $500+ range. As in the other lamp's listing, the origin of this lamp is being associated with Vienna Austria and possibly "Bergman", of which I am unfamiliar. I commend the seller on their exceptional and abundant photography which you can see at the listing, which ends on March 30th.

Dual Peacock Art Deco Figural Lamp

The sale of the glass beaded shade lamp went well and I experienced a first - shipping a package to Saudi Arabia. I had originally specified that the auction would only be applicable in the U.S. but by answering to the affirmative to a polite bidder requesting permission to bid from abroad, the sale exceeded my expectations by increasing the competition. For small items, from now on, I don't see any reason not to sell worldwide.

Very shortly I will be putting up this dual peacock figural lamp up for sale on Ebay. It's currently available in the shop, but I am trying to circulate the inventory, so this lamp will be going next.

This lamp has a striking profile with the two birds' tails joining together and forming an arc over the top of the brain glass shade. It is in impeccable condition.

You're getting a preview of a lamp that I'm about to put on sale on Ebay. The link to see the listing will not be valid until Thursday at 3:30 PST, so check back then if you are interested.

This lamp is truly a special one, primarily due to it's special shade and excellent overall condition. It sports hand-wired glass flowers, leaves, and beads attached to a copper shade frame. It is signed/stamped 1930 A.B. & Co. and is in excellent condition. It may even have the original bulb, though I cannot confirm it - it just looks very old.

Here's a list of the flowers that adorn the shade:

3 Blue tulips each with 3 green sepals/leaves
1 Yellow tulip with green sepals/leaves
Small clear/white flowers with green beads
Small red and vanilla flowers with blue beads
Small iridescent blue green flowers with red beads

Tri-Figural Art Deco Lamp with Czech Shade

I have a search that I've set up which I'll call the "Hot Deco Lamps Search". It's a quick way to find lamps that I might be interested in purchasing without digging through hundreds of lamps, shades, parts, etc. The search finds only antique lamps with active bidding, while filtering out less-desirable low-priced items. I'll make the search permanently available to you in the column to the right.

The search brought up this lamp and a couple of things stuck out to me. First, the Czech shade is a rarer color combination (as far as I've seen). I have about 10 Czech shades and none of them combine red, blue, yellow, white, and orange simultaneously. Secondly, I've not yet seen this configuration of the three figures before with each of the female figures grabbing the bottom of their skirts. Many of the tri-figural lamps you will see over and over again, but I've not yet run across this one. It is on page 12 of "Popular Art Deco Lighting" and is valued there at over $1200, probably due to the globe included on that particular light.

Bidding ends January 8th and it is currently bid up to $145. More pics at the listing.

Antique Egyptian Revival Art Deco Lamp

This lamp is seeing some substantial bidding, which is scheduled to cease on December 12th. This lamp depicts a semi-nude woman with an Egyptian headband selling rugs in an outdoor market. The lighting illuminates from below the market canopy and shines upon a stone ediface.

Although listed as late Victorian era, this lamp is likely from the 20s or 30s, in the heart of the Art Deco period. This is most likely a white metal composition.

With 3 days to go and a $425 price tag, I can see this lamp going even higher. The listing has more detailed, closeup images. This appears to be a rare lamp in excellent condition.

"German" Art Deco Lamp

Up for bids is this fine Deco/Nouveau lamp of an upended woman balancing a shade on the soles of her feet. The base is stamped "German" and apparently the shade is signed as well, but the seller cannot make out the name. The shade has large opalescent chunks of glass with red, green, white, and blue jewels that are evident once lit. The lamp is currently bid up to $456 and you can view more details here.

Jazz Band Art Deco Lamp

Unfortunately I couldn't bid as high as others on this fantastic Jazz Band Deco lamp which ultimately sold for $1,300 plus a buyers premium of 20% (+ shipping....). The leaded glass behind the band will light up as well as the two side shades which the seller classifies as being Czech made. Condition looked to be excellent for the age. We won't see another like this one, possibly ever...

Early 1930s Ivorine Alabaster Figural Lamp

These Gerdago-designed ivorine-faced dancing pixie figure lamps consistently attain prices in the low $400s and beyond. The figure was reused in several lamp configurations and two are pictured in Millman and Dwyer's "Art Deco Lighting" book. Some of these lamps also have ivorine hands, which the one above does not have. The lamp shown is currently for sale with bidding ending on August 9th. You can view the lamp's listing here. An identical lamp, pictured with the examples I am showing below, sold for $400 July 1st. Note the one with the matching bookends.

Art Nouveau Millefiori Lamp

Although this blog's purpose is to profile Art Deco lamps, I'm particularly enamored with this Art Nouveau lamp with it's original millefiori shade. Up for auction is a lamp base featuring two nude female figures. Though there is no wiring and no shade it is currently bid up to $374. I believe it is Nuart or maybe Frankart but I have not found a comparable lamp to say for sure. More details here.

Here's a great find: a 1920's Art Deco clock that includes a lighted dancing girl with reflective mirrors behind her. She is hand-painted and has a blue skirt and blonde hair. The red pillars illuminate from behind as well. The clock face, marked "Lincoln", does not have a crystal. More details on the clock can be seen here.

French 1930s "Winged Lady" Deco Lamp

Up for auction is a "Winged Lady" Art Deco lamp marked "France" with no further signature. The base illuminates and is primarily marble. The body is a cast material that the seller has not definitively identified. It is being sold from Mannheim Germany and already has a healthy bid of $510 four days before the May 28th close date of the auction. If anyone is familiar with the maker, let us all know. Nude Figure Art Deco Lamp

The above pictured lamp is up for sale until bidding ends on May 9th. I find the overall aesthetic of the lamp to be very pleasing and the fixture section of the lamp is made of brass. There has been a minor amount of in-painting but overall the original paint seems intact. It appears to be an original shade or period shade, at least. Bidding stands at $27 but I plan to participate if it stays there... More detail and pictures can be seen here.

Here's a signed Frankart lamp with Czechoslovakian multi-colored shade up for sale on Ebay. Pricing is starting at $95 and bidding ends May 6th. Lamp is 8" by 8". A Frankart signature is located on the base of the lamp near the figure's feet. More pictures and details can be seen here.

Normally I will blog about Art Deco lamps which are available in the average collectors price range but why not kick off the blog with a $40,000 bronze Marcel Bouraine Art Deco lamp? Apparently another lamp by Bouraine just sold at Sotheby's for $78,000. The particular lamp is very detailed and the colors/patina are still well intact. It appears the glass "shades" are still intact as well. You can read more about the lamp and see additional pictures at the auction listing.

As with my other blogs www.rarevictorian.com and www.rjhorner.com, I blog about decorative furniture (lamps, in this case) that I run across in my own personal searching. Since I have the information handy anyway, I post it here for others collectors to see. Art Deco lamps are a very recent passion of mine and the "recent" part means that so far, I don't know much. I hope through this blog and my own collecting I will expand my knowledge and communicate with others with a similar passion.
